It’s Coming SOON!

2013 Excitement!

Just days away now!!!  Jimmy is coming to town!  The Mayor is studying up on Groundhogese…

City folk are digging out all their Groundhog Garb and winter woolens… putting fresh batteries in their cameras and putting grandma on Speed Dial!

Excitement is building as Jimmy’s big day is coming!

The Post Office will be set up at Market Street Diner to put a special, SPECIAL cancellation postmark on your mail (art by  Me!)

The festivities are now being organized by a new group – so many details are “fuzzy.”  I’m still hoping to find out if booths will be set up as we could use some new t-shirts!  Chocolate Groundhogs are already available at Beans and Cream — they are located in Cannery Square where Jimmy will be on Saturday morning.  Stop in for some great coffee and breakfast!  Market Street Diner will also be hosting their annual Groundhog Buffet!  Excellent food – also located adjacent to Jimmy’s spotlight.

See you Saturday!  Get your BROWN ON!!! :)

Plans set for annual Prognostication by Jimmy

City ceremony planned for 6:50 a.m.
The city’s annual groundhog prognostication is scheduled to take place at sunrise on Feb. 2 in Cannery Square Plaza.

Jimmy the Groundhog will be at the Prognostication ceremony in Downtown Sun Prairie to share his estimate on when spring will arrive.

The city’s Business Improvement District chairperson, Bruce Sprague, confirmed that Jimmy will be ushered in to the square by limo and fire trucks at 6:50 a.m.

Local restaurants will be serving a variety of Jimmy-related goodies like Jimmy chocolates and a Jimmy-
themed beer, and a buffet breakfast is scheduled at the Market Street Diner and Bakery, Sprague said.
Sprague said the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce handed over reins to the Prognostication to the BID this year and more details on the day’s events will be released when they are finalized.

Jimmy wishes Jerry would quit waking him up as this is High Hibernation Season!

01/25/2013:
Jimmy had his annual physical and passed with flying colors! He also made an appearance at City Hall to meet the mayor! Check out photos here!

Can’t wait for Jimmy to emerge from his sleep to see the new look on Groundhog Day!

Thanks for your patience while we hammered, and sawed, and built all the new pages… hope you enjoy the site.

Jimmy Loves the Packers!

This is the 2013 Coloring Contest drawing.  I had to avoid any and all use of anything belonging to the Packers… guess folks get the gist anyway… waiting to see the colored entries!
